JMU students filming a capstone project at Stone Spring Storage

Corporate said no. โ€” We said yes.

A group of JMU students reached out a few weeks ago. They were working on their end-of-semester capstone film and needed a unique location โ€” somewhere with controlled light, and the industrial backdrop that storage units provide.

They'd asked another storage facility first. The request got sent up the corporate ladder. The answer came back: no.

So they came to us. We didn't take long to say yes. That's the difference between a corporate chain with a call center three states away and a locally owned business โ€” we can make decisions like this on the spot, in person, with a "yeah, let's make it work."

Watching them turn one of our units into a film set was one of the highlights of our spring. Lighting rigs, boom mics, a director and crew of five, real cameras, real coordination. They built something cool, and we got to be a small part of it. We can't wait to see what they made.

If you're a JMU student wrapping up the semester and starting to think about summer storage, we'd love to help. Climate-controlled units, lowest rates in town for full-time students, and the kind of local people that say yes when they can.

Stop by, give us a call, or reserve online.
