Blog — Snow is coming: here's a 10-minute winter prep.
Five things to do before the first freeze
- Check your seal. Climate-controlled units like ours handle most of this for you, but make sure nothing's blocking the door from sealing.
- Lift items off the floor. Pallets or shelving — even half an inch helps.
- Avoid plastic bags directly on upholstery. Trapped moisture is the enemy. Use breathable covers.
- Drain anything that can freeze. Garden hoses, water tanks, that one bottle of soda you forgot.
- Park anything you'll need in front. Snow shovels, ice melt, cold-weather gear shouldn't be behind 30 boxes.
